Our brass pendants are cast using and age old traditional clay and sand moulding over natural flames. Each pendant is then finished by hand, adding details by stamping patterns, soldering on decorative edges and setting a stone before final polishing.
The brass is made from just two pure metals, 70% copper and 30% zinc, both of which are mined in Rajasthan. When highly polished, this mix of copper and zinc has a deep golden colour and is sometimes referred to as ‘fake gold’. Over time, the colour darkens as the metal oxidises in the atmosphere. Brass can easily be polished to bring back its golden lustre, or some people prefer it to age naturally for an antique look.
